Sandcastle

Puerto Peñasco is a small city located on the shore of the Gulf of California (also known as the Sea of Cortés), the town is known for its fishing and tourism industries. Puerto Peñasco is alternatively known among many of its English-speaking visitors as Rocky Point.

From Phoenix

1. Take the I-10 West to Buckeye

2. Take Hwy.85 South to Gila Bend (same exit as I-8 to San Diego)

3. At the end of Gila Bend you will see a Mc Donald's, right before the Mc Donald's turn on

to the continuation of Hwy.85 South (90 more minutes until the border).

4. Follow Hwy.85 straight through into Mexico. You will have 2 turns to make into the town of

Sonoyta. Just follow the signs overhead that point to Pto. Peñasco (that is Puerto Peñasco abbreviated).

5. You now have roughly 60 more miles until you get there.
When you get to outskirts of Puerto Penasco turn left on the Roundabout(sort of) to the left going to Caborca go approx 5 miles and turn right on a roundabout towards Puerto Penasco.  Go 1 ½ mils and turn left at the large sign that has at the botton and to the left  a small sign that says sandcastle, continue following the signs till  it ends at the sandcastle.  The road kinda wonders around and is muddy after a rain.  The road has been improved and moved some since 2006 but the signs are better.
