At his Sunday night Keynote Larry Elison defined cloud computing to be like Amazon's EC2 service not like SalesForce.com application.  (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers.) 

Oracle XE

Installation

1. DownLoad and install the Oracle XE rpm
2. As root run /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure
   • Answer the configuration questions, remember the password.
3. Open your browser to 127.0.0.1:8080/apex
4. Start the enterprise manager control agent type: emctl start
5. Start the enterprise manager dbconsole  type: emctl start dbconsole
